Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely popular. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by American citizens of all races. It was during her ninth grade that she gained confidence after being highly praised in an audition. This not only increased her confidence, but it also changed the direction of her career. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from the Julliard School in New York. In the year 23 she began her career making her first appearance on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. Her greatest break came in her performance as The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. The following year, she joined the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. As a well-known singer, she has also released a single as well as an extended show. In her role as an activist, she works tirelessly to promote LGBT equality.
